I was born and raised on the beautiful northern California coast in a small town called Eureka. My childhood was surrounded by a loving and supportive family and friends. We spent a lot of time on the beach, playing near the ocean, swimming in the rivers, as well as hiking through the Redwood forest. Being the youngest of 3, I looked up to my older brother and sister for guidance and learned many important lessons from watching their experiences. Since I was a young child, I've been involved in team sports such as soccer and basketball. I thoroughly enjoyed these sports and put my heart and soul into being the best I could be through my senior year of High School.
In 2003, my parents and I moved to the little town of Etna Wyoming in search of less rainy weather and new adventures. I finished my last 2 years of High School at Jackson Hole High School, where I continued to play my beloved team sports as well as start to learn the many new wonders Wyoming has to offer.
After graduating High School in 2005, I spent a year in Fort Collins at their local community college in hopes of entering into the nursing program. Due to the increased time on the waiting list, I decided to move to Laramie Wyoming to attend UW and continue pursuing my nursing career. The economic recession starting in 2007 put a halt to my college career and recieved my CNA (certified nurse assistant) license. While working as a CNA, I was able to observe nurses in their natural environment. First, at a long term care facility, then an OB/Gyn office, and finally as a home health CNA. After 6 years, I learned that nursing was not the the career for me for several reasons. During my time as a CNA, I joined a local CrossFit gym and took the CrossFit Level 1 Certification Course and started coaching classes and CrossFit 7220. This is when I realized my passion was to coach others into a happier, healthier, more naturally satisfying lifestyle.
I decided to go to Massage Therapy school after coaching CrossFit for 5 years. I've received massage since I was in High School and believe in its methods and healing abilities. Hearing that my CrossFit athletes were in pain bothered me, and not knowing how to help them urged me to find a method that would allow me to do so. Im fascinated with the human body and have faith in its natural healing abilities. The Healing Arts Institute in Fort Collins was, without question, the right massage therapy school for me. Their program encourages individuality by introducing many different methods of massage. They instill the importance of solid body mechanics in order to have a long and prosperous career. Students start a hands-on journey day 2 of the 9 month program in order to ensure their quality of touch is knowledgeable and thorough. They care about their students success and send them out into the community with only the best awareness and mindfulness towards the practice of Massage.
These days, I spend my time exploring this life with my husband and our two dogs. I'm blessed to fill my days with healing sessions as well as coaching some high intensity CrossFit classes in the evening. We are expecting our first little one December of 2018 and are very excited to have our lives changed by watching and helping our child grow and learn in this life.
